Michelin Guide and TripAdvisor join forces
Would it be good for restaurants? That's the question.

The Michelin Guide has joined forces with user review site TripAdvisor "to offer diners a complementary way to find their ideal dining experience, as well as improved access to a wider choice of high-quality restaurants around the world."
According to the details of this partnership, all of the 14,000 restaurants selected by the Michelin Guide inspectors worldwide will be clearly identified with their ratings Star, Bib Gourmand and Plate distinctions on the TripAdvisor website and apps.
The Michelin Guide says this "will significantly increase the visibility of the chefs and restaurants of the Michelin Guide". Now the question is would this create a conflict between anonymous inspectors and TripAdvisor reviewers?
"It's a calm feeling, being in the permanent home," says chef Harriet Mansell
